Devblog 32 – STUNS!
Welcome back to the Rekt Games devblog! Let’s get straight to it.
At this time, we’re experimenting with gameplay changes, and we’re trying out stuns. I cannot express how much of a difference it makes during gameplay!
IT’S SO MUCH FUN!
Let me tell you first that this is very early in the prototyping phase and we’re not fully done with the idea.
So, how does it work?
When anyone reaches a health % below a certain point, they will become stunned. This means, not being able to move, attack or use any abilities at first, and then gradually gaining movement speed; finally gaining the abilities & weapon control back.
Also, if the enemy is hit towards a wall, they will become stunned as well.
On the image, you can see the left character with yellow circle around his head, he got stunned due to being hit into a wall 🙂
So what does this mean for FIGHTWORLD? It means, you can knock the living crap out of someone, and then kick them off the platform! For reference, all that’s missing is yelling “SPARTAAA!”.
Now, our clones have very small & cute legs, but this means their feet aren’t long enough for a kick. Who knows how we’ll animate this, maybe a Zidane headbutt? Who knows, the forum is open.
As a final note, we’re changing the core gameplay into requiring stuns to be able to kill another player. This makes for some super interesting gameplay, more on that hopefully next week when we’ve experimented more.
