Devblog 11 – What is the #BONUS combo?
Welcome back to the Rekt Games devblog! Let’s get straight to it.
First of all, we would like to thank all of you who are reading our blog, following us and sending us your ideas, feedback and love. You are amazing!
This period, we’ve been focusing heavily on gameplay, and one thing we’re super excited to showcase is the implementation of bonus combos. It means, after hitting several consecutive attacks without being hit, the player will get a BONUS COMBO status which enables the next hit to deal double damage. We’re not fully done with this yet, and the amount of attacks required is varied based on weapon. For instance, swords are easier to hit with and therefore requires more hits before bonus-comboing.
Also, we’re not sure that we’re satisfied with just having double damage. Maybe, there should be more to it. This could mean bigger range or more speed.
In the future, what would be nice is if the combo could be continued several times over, for instance, a sword hitting 3 times grants more damage, 5 consecutive would grant more speed, 7 hits would grant some super ability!?
